Personalization with Catalogs and Handlebar Logic

Ragnarok recently launched a series of emails and push messages for a mobile-first loyalty marketplace leveraging Iterable’s Catalog and Handlebar logic. Ragnarok started by defining each of the following use cases in turn:

  • Goal or Objective — Develop a personalized and scalable loyalty program centered on purchase behavior that inspires members to achieve a purchase goal to maximize loyalty rewards.
  • Challenges — Data was siloed in Snowflake. The customer needed first-party data syncs with Iterable to create audiences in real-time.
  • Measurement — An increase in CTR and POS purchases.
  • Testing Plan — Use behavioral data to create segmentation for over 80 message variants to optimize the user experience.
  • Eligibility — A user could receive 29 possible messages based on their action in the program, i.e., purchases plus changes in tier status. 
  • Data Solution — A real-time, 360-degree view of purchase behavior and tier status was achieved by leveraging Census to reconcile POS data app data in Snowflake and Iterable.
  • Content — Content was multi-channel Email and Push messaging with advanced segmentation that could trigger 80+ possible message variations across audiences, each with purchase recency and program tier status.

Thanks to Iterable’s marketing automation capabilities, testing different variants and sequences of the loyalty program was effortless. Ragnarok was able to lean on Census to sync the necessary behavioral data into Iterable and orchestrate the complex messaging sequences in Iterable. 

 

With three separate variants of the program being tested, Ragnarok was able to efficiently build and analyze 80+ message variants to optimize the program.
